One Month App gets a name and logo

After much deliberation, we've decided on the name Pulse for our cash flow management tool. And here's the new logo:

Pulse: Cash Flow Management

Although there were some excellent (and quite funny) suggestions from our post the other day, we felt that Pulse mostly clearly defined what we are trying to do with this application both now and in the future. We think cash flow management is about tracking the pulse and vital signs of your small business. In addition, we've got some potential new features in mind (for the future) that would make this application as much about business health tracking as it is cash flow. The logo concept is simple and effective. By making the letter "l" of the word Pulse into a rhythmic graphic, the idea clearly shines through.

So, let us know what you think. We hope you like it as much as we do.

While Stephen and Nate are finishing up the programming for the app (more posts from them are coming soon, I promise!), I'll be jumping into developing a simple promotional and signup website for Pulse. Things are really heating up.

Great name. I just hope that you're going to avoid the whole productname"hq".com silliness.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Geof: No, we're not going to use hq in the domain, heh. We've registered pulseapp.com and considering a couple others. You got a good domain name in mind? :)

@Reuben:
No need for the 3D animated GIF. Just use the good ol' <blink> tag.

the only thing wrong with the logo is that, the bars in the 'L' are going down, therefore putting someone under the impression that it looses you money, and it isn't good at what it does. try working with a lower case L and playing with an arrow at the end of the lowercase L. Also, the S just looks weird.

@moeed -- That's not a bad thought, and I had originally had a similar one when designing the logo. However, I think you might be taking it too literally. That being said, Pulse isn't meant to be a business consultant, it's cash flow mgmt software. It lets you track the cash flow for your business and hopefully gain some knowledge from that to help you grow your business. Sometimes cash is up, and sometimes it's down. It's what you do with that knowledge that makes your company more successful.

Thanks for your feedback.

Rather than the decreasing bars suggesting a loss of money, one could argue that the decreasing bars suggest a reduction in time one would have to spend managing their money by using Pulse as opposed to similar options (due to great application design and function).
